Services

Whether your pet is in need of a general check-up or just a place to stay for the holidays, we have all your needs covered.

Exams
Whether your pet needs a wellness exam or is feeling under the weather, our doctors are available to cater to your specific needs. We also do behavioral consultations to help you decide if your animal's change in personality/behavior is due to illness or any underlying cause other than training needs. Be sure to ask about nail and wing trims at your visit also!

Vaccinations
We offer all standard vaccinations for cats & dogs, as well as for ferrets, birds and domestic skunks. We also offer optional vaccines such as giardia and lymes.

Diagnostics
For your convenience, we perform several in-house tests and can  send samples to outside labs for diagnostics. We also have our own radiology suite. We also offer allergy testing for patients with on-going allergy-related symptoms. We will pull blood and send it to an outside lab where a full screen is run to determine whether allergies are caused by foods, plants, or other irritants in the environment.

Surgeries
Our experienced doctors use advanced surgical techniques and technology to ensure the safest outcome for your pet. Technicians are trained in sterilization techniques and are on-hand in our state-of-the-art surgery suite throughout the procedure to monitor your pet's heart and breath rates. Someone will always be present after surgery to monitor your pet's recovery . We offer a complete range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgery for companion animals and specialize in cruciate surgeries, endoscopic procedures and more delicate surgeries for exotics.

Grooming
We have a professional groomer on staff on Monday through Friday. She is available for baths as well as breed specific haircuts. She accepts cats and dogs as other small animals for baths. Puppies should be seen as early as 6 weeks of age to begin tolerating grooming well. Call today to schedule your appointment with Debbie. Grooming drop-off's are accepted between 7:30 am - 9:00 am ONLY. **Please be aware of Cancellation/No Show policy: 24 hours notice of cancellation is requested  . If this is not done, or you fail to show up for your scheduled appointment at all, a $15 Cancellation/No Show fee will be assessed to your account.**

Boarding
We offer boarding for any animal, including exotics. We have separate accommodations for cats, dogs and exotics. Please check with us for availability and make your reservations early during the holidays! We accept drop-off's for boarding anytime between 7:30 am until 5:30 pm Monday - Friday and 9:00 am- 11:30 am on Saturday. This allows us time to have you fill out the appropriate boarding documents and make sure your pet is comfortable in their accommodations prior to our leaving for the day.

Drop-Off Service
If for any reason, you are unable to schedule a regular appointment with one of our doctors, we are happy to offer our drop-off service to you. Patients are accepted for drop-off any time before 12:00 noon to be worked in for the doctor to see. We will gladly call you when your pet is ready to be picked up. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee a pick up time as these patients are seen in between regularly scheduled appointments.

When the time comes, we can aid in final arrangements for your pet. We offer mass cremations and can also make arrangements through Atlanta Pet Cemetery & Crematory for you to take home your pet's remains. For individual cremations, you may select the standard urn or choose from a selection of specialty urns. For further information, please call them at (770) 333-3332. They are located at 4964-A South Atlanta Road in Smyrna, GA 30080.

Avalon Animal Hospital is licensed through the State of Georgia to accept and treat injured wildlife.
